Dear Florida Chapter Members and Friends,
I am very fortunate and grateful to have had the opportunity to serve as the HFMA Florida Chapter President for 2012-2013. This chapter year has been another exceptional one thanks in particular to the dedication and motivation of the Florida Chapter Leadership Team.
During my tenure as President, there were some specific goals I had set to further enhance our Chapter’s membership satisfaction and future growth. These goals included:
- Developing, publishing, and communicating Chapter policy for leadership development and succession planning
- Increasing provider membership levels and participation in HFMA activities, particularly at the executive levels
- Placing special emphasis on local and regional educational programming to provide less costly options to our members
- Revising, publishing, and communicating the Chapter strategic plan, leadership job descriptions, and committee charters on the Chapter website and at state-wide events
- Improving the Chapter’s percentage and count of HFMA certified members and
- Hosting a successful HFMA Region 5 DIXIE Institute event
Achieving these goals required a lot of help and encouragement from each Chapter member starting with willing volunteers to participate on our committees. If you are interested in serving on one of our exciting committees, please reference the Committee Volunteer booklet on the HFMA Florida Chapter Website (click here).
Over the last several years I have come to realize that the HFMA is an organization of friends and family who truly care about each other. I remained committed to helping ensure that the Florida Chapter remains dedicated to its mission of providing outstanding education and networking opportunities for our members, while remaining financially sound for the future.
I look forward to seeing many of you on June 16 - 19, 2013 at the HFMA National Institute (ANI) in Orlando (click here).
Sincerely,
Mimi Taylor
President - 2012 - 2013
HFMA Florida Chapter
