Kristy Summers holds the position of manager of the Revenue Management Quality Assurance department at Orlando Health in Orlando, FL. Kristy and her team of twelve analysts are responsible for monitoring the accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information at multiple points along the revenue cycle including scheduling, pre-registration, admission, and patient accounting collector follow up/resolution. The team is now working to bring those same audit services to the employed physician practices and assists medical staff services with maintenance of the physician dictionary.

In January of 2011, Kristy joined Orlando Health’s internal ICD-10 implementation team as the lead for systems and applications.  Kristy has been in healthcare access and quality for over 13 years and a member of HFMA for seven. Kristy is proud to have earned the designation of Certified Healthcare Financial Professional in December of 2010 and is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the Florida chapter as a regional education director.

Cindy Kushner is a Partner with Crowe Horwath LLP with more than 25 years of experience with the “Big 4” concentrating in tax and business services to the healthcare industry. Cindy has served private and publicly held healthcare companies and not-for-profit healthcare organizations, including not-for-profit healthcare systems, physician practice management companies, nursing homes, hospices, durable medical equipment companies, cooperatives, medical staffing companies, multi-national pharmaceutical and medical device companies.

Cindy has been a guest speaker on a number of topics for the Tax Executive Institute (TEI), FICPA, Florida International University classes, and firm-sponsored conferences. In addition to serving on the HFMA Board as South Region Education Director, Cindy is Chairman and Founder of Women Executive Leadership (WEL) for the past 10 years; serves on the United Way of Broward County's Governance Committee; serves on the Advisory Board of National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Florida, and has been a HFMA member since 1994.

Cindy is a member of the AICPA; FICPA; and had served on the FICPA Mobility Task Force. She has been a mentor in the Women of Tomorrow program for 7 years mentoring high school students in Broward School System; past board member and treasurer, InterOrganization (ION); past board of director for Florida Venture Forum, and former Ambassador for Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.

Chris has been the VP/Controller of Pavilion Health Services, a subsidiary of Baptist Health in Jacksonville Florida, for the past 12 years. His management and financial responsibilities include a wide range of health care related services, including physician practices, home health, retail pharmacies, ancillary services, property management and a bio-medical equipment company that provides maintenance, repairs and equipment sales across the Southeast. Prior to that he held various Accounting positions where he specialized in Medicare reimbursement, budgeting and business development for Baptist Health, St Vincent’s Health System in Jacksonville and Alachua General Hospital in Gainesville.

Chris has served on the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Financial Management Association beginning in 1997 and held the positions of Regional Director Education for North Florida and the State, as well as Plan for Membership. He is currently the Chairman of the Founders Committee and in May of 2009 received the Muncie Gold Merit award for outstanding service. He is a member of American College of Healthcare Executives where he serves on the local Planning Committee.

Chris graduated with an Accounting degree from Queens College in New York City and attended University of North Florida’s Coggin College of Business. He is a volunteer on the Accounting Review Committee for the United Way of Northeast Florida and the Baptist Health Foundation Scholarship Committee.

Glen is the Manager of Contracting and Payor Relations at Baptist HealthCare in Pensacola, Florida.  Previously with Ascension Health for 10 years at Sacred Heart Health System, Pensacola and Saint Thomas Health System, Nashville he has deep and broad experience managing the financial aspects of hospitals, physician group practices, long term care companies and insurance companies.

As a past Tennessee and Florida HFMA Chapter Board Member he is the recipient of the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Merit Awards as well as the Medal of Honor.  A member of the International Health Economics Association, he  is also an adjunct faculty for the University of St. Francis and Austin Peay State Universities teaching graduate level Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Economics, Healthcare Finance, and Managed Care Theory & Practice.
