ABBY BIRCH is the Director of Client Development for Advanced Patient Advocacy (APA), a privately held company that assists hospitals in reducing uncompensated care by finding the best coverage options for their uninsured and underinsured patients. In addition to her work at APA, Abby serves on the Board of the HFMA Florida Chapter and was recently selected by National HFMA to participate on the Early Careerist Task Force. In May 2014, she received the Florence Henry Award for demonstrating innovation and leadership within the Florida Chapter. Abby is a founding member of Women in Healthcare Leadership, an annual leadership and professional development conference that is now part of HFMA HERe. Abby is a proud graduate of the University of Central Florida and is a member of the South Florida UCF Alumni Chapter; Go Knights!
ASHLEY MACKENDRICK is a Senior Financial Analyst at BayCare Health System, a leading not-for-profit health care system that connects individuals and families to a wide range of services at 14 hospitals and hundreds of other locations throughout the Tampa Bay and Central Florida regions. In addition to her work at BayCare, Ashley serves on the Tampa Committee of the HFMA Florida Chapter as well as the Development Committee of the Future Leaders in Philanthropy at St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation. In 2016, she received the St. Anthony’s Foundation Legacy Award for demonstrating leadership and commitment to the Foundation. Ashley is a graduate of the University of South Florida and is a Florida licensed CPA.
BARBARA WALSH is an Enterprise Account Manager at Change Healthcare, the single largest financial and administrative healthcare network in the United States, reaching approximately 750,000 physicians, 105,000 dentists, 60,000 pharmacies, 5,000 hospitals, 600 vendors, 450 laboratories and 1,200 government and commercial payers. Barbara has over 27 years of experience working in the healthcare industry and has been a member of the HFMA Florida Chapter for the past 7 years. She has volunteered on various committees and will next serve as the Co-Chair of the Registration Committee.
BRANDON SLAUTER is a Manager in the Orlando office of RSM, an accounting firm with offices throughout the United States. Serving RSM clients primarily in the healthcare and nonprofit industries, Brandon is also a certified public accountant and member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. For the past two years, Brandon has volunteered with the HFMA Florida Chapter on the Education Committee for Central Florida.
BRIAN HUDSON serves as the Vice President of Sales and Solutions for Pyramid Healthcare Solutions helping create positive financial outcomes for clients nationwide. As a division of Anthelio Healthcare, Pyramid Healthcare Solutions is a national leader in providing a complete suite of Revenue Cycle Solutions. With an exceptional track record of healthcare industry sales success in a variety of specialties; both clinical and non-clinical, Hudson has experience in diverse executive leadership positions in business development, marketing, and operations. A results focused leader, with a unique understanding of domestic and international healthcare human capital, along with staffing and solution expertise. Hudson brings entrepreneurial start up experience as Co-founder and President of a nationally recognized healthcare firm; along with SVP, RVP and Director Leadership roles for both private growth and public fortune 100 companies. Brian is a member and is actively involved in HFMA and has served on the Board of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) in both Central and West Florida. Originally from Boca Grande, Florida, and a graduate of Florida State University, Brian is passionate about the healthcare industry and community involvement. He currently is serving a gubernatorial appointment to the State of Florida Dept. of Health, Athletic Training Board.
GOVIND GOYAL is a Regional Director of Enterprise Solutions at ZirMed where he strategically partners with healthcare providers to improve their clinical and financial performance. Prior to joining ZirMed, Govi spent 2 years in Deloitte’s revenue cycle practice, focusing on risk mitigation strategies and facilitating several Epic implementations. Govi also has a decade of experience working for large academic and community based health care systems where he was responsible for various CDM and revenue integrity initiatives. He received his bachelors at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Masters in Health Systems Management at Rush University Medical Center. Govi is an active member of the Florida HFMA chapter, serving as the Director of Administration over the central education region.
JAKE SCHOOLER is a Financial Analyst within Revenue Management Services at BayCare Health System, a leading not-for-profit health care system with 14 hospitals and hundreds of other convenient locations throughout the Tampa Bay and Central Florida regions. In addition to his work at BayCare Health System, Jake serves as the Chair of the Early Careerist Committee for HFMA Florida Chapter. Jake received his B.S. in Finance from Florida State University and Masters in Finance from University of Tampa.
JENNIFER STRINGER, CRCR is a Sr. Client Account Executive at Change Healthcare, the single largest financial and administrative healthcare network in the United States, reaching approximately 750,000 physicians, 105,000 dentists, 60,000 pharmacies, 5,000 hospitals, 600 vendors, 450 laboratories and 1,200 government and commercial payers. Jennifer has over 20 years experience working in the healthcare industry and has been a member of the HFMA Florida Chapter for the past 10 years. She has volunteered on various committees and is Chair of the Registration Committee for the Central Florida Region as well as Co-Chair of the FL HFMA Website Committee. Jennifer is a University of Central Florida graduate.
MARY CORR is the Operations Manager in Revenue Integrity at Orlando Health, a not for profit Healthcare organization in the Central Florida area. In Revenue Integrity, Mary ensures charge capture, documentation accuracy for clinical services rendered as well as revenue cycle fluidity. Mary also is a member of HFMA Florida Chapter and is becoming a more involved volunteer within the chapter.
MICHELLE (SHELLY) CRUNK currently serves Adventist Health System - Florida Hospital as Director for the Revenue Cycle Enterprise. In this role, Shelly supports a variety of strategic priorities and has responsibilities involving key organizational initiatives, including improving access to coverage and access to care through coordination and alignment of the hospital and community-based efforts, the hospital’s transition to Cerner’s full suite of Revenue Cycle solutions, and strategies focused on the uninsured and underinsured populations. Florida Hospital is an eight-campus, 2400+ bed integrated delivery network, serving the Greater Orlando metropolitan area.
SARA JACOB is an Analyst with Florida Hospital’s Revenue Cycle Management. Sara’s primary role is advancing the Regulatory and Compliance Program which supports all of Revenue Cycle Management. She was previously a Senior Policy Analyst at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, working with state health agencies on programs and policies related to various public health issues. She has over six years of experience in the non-profit sector working in different capacities. She has dual Masters in Public Health and Nutrition. Sara recently joined HFMA Florida chapter’s Central Region and serves as the Logistic Coordinator.
