PURPOSE: The Curriculum Committee is a group, working under the Program Chair, of committed HFMA Members who represent the membership of the Florida Chapter to ensure that the content presented at the statewide meetings is relevant and appealing to attract attendance from the provider community. OBJECTIVES: - Solicit and review speaker proposals from leading industry experts to ensure information is presented at the appropriate level and that topics are relevant. - Identify and actively recruit provider members who are willing to share best practices. - Select speakers and collect final session descriptions, learning objectives, presentations, speaker bios and headshots. - Review final speaker presentations to insure they do not endorse any specific product or service. - Work with the NASBA Committee to ensure the accurate calculation of Continuing Professional Education (CPE’s) and that records meet the Florida State requirements. - Solicit feedback from members at the conclusion of the education event and share feedback with presenters and board members. - Maintain speaker database of contacts and reviews of past presentations.

PURPOSE: The Data Management Committee seeks to collect and protect the chapter’s intellectual assets in a centralized and secure location to reduce the amount of re-work necessary among volunteer activities and to ensure proper record retention. OBJECTIVE: - Educate, promote and manage the use of chapter resources (such as PaperTracer) to archive and maintain critical chapter documents. - Document and distribute record retention policies for the chapter. - Encourage the use of our chapter database (PaperTracer) through regular communication and education to ensure compliance.

OBJECTIVES: - Maintain knowledge of chapter requirements to stay in compliance with NASBA certification guidelines. - Develop and maintain appropriate records to meet the State’s requirements for Continuing Professional Education. - Work with Education Committee leadership to ensure proper procedures and documents are in place to achieve compliance. - Ensure chapter’s marketing materials are updated and in compliance with NASBA standards. - Ensure CPE certificates are issued in a timely manner by responsible party. - Respond to audit inquiries and all NASBA related questions as applicable. - Prepare a written report of the Committee activities and submit to the Chapter President and Director of Education.

The following forums are currently available: - Senior Executive Forum - Revenue Cycle Forum - Reimbursement Forum - IT Forum - Clinical Forum OBJECTIVES: - Developing recommendations for curriculum and speakers at all Statewide events. - Coordinating at least one in-person program that is by invitation only. - Creating appropriate communications, webinar, meeting or workshop programs related to broad issues that impact a healthcare system. - Writing articles on these topics for the Chapter newsletter. - Providing speaker information and agenda to the Program Chair at least twelve weeks prior to educational session. - If applicable, ensure CPE’s are awarded.

OBJECTIVES: - Coordinate with the Director of Administration and Treasurer to determine scholarship funds available for each statewide meeting. - Maintain application process for interested providers. - Solicit interest in provider scholarships by working with Director of Education to time emails out to the membership. - Evaluate applications in an objective manner and suggest scholarship recipients to Chapter President and Director of Education. - Furnish committee activity reports at all regular Chapter board meetings.
